Latest news from the Tiffany & Co revealed a newly created metal

In hounour of its 175th anniversary, Tiffany & Co has unveiled Rubeo – a new jewellers metal that ‘harmoniously blends the richness of gold, the brilliance of silver and the warmth of copper’

Tiffany says, the new metal ‘is lightweight’ yet strong, polishes to a smooth lustre and is exceptionally flattering to the skin

‘Rubeo metal is the first such creation in Tiffany’s history and takes its place among the most beautiful metals in the world’ is what Tiffany says

‘Metallurgists experimented with different ratios over a long testing period until they achieved the desired colour, radiant with the glow of ‘first light’ that awakens a sense of wonder and enables the spirit’

‘In the medieval philosophy of alchemy, Rubeo (which means ‘redness in Latin) was the title of the very highest achievement, when matter and spirit fused to create something of rare beauty’

The new metal makes its debut in tiffany’s 1837 Rubeo collection which features the brand’s famous 1837 hallmark as well as the signature of the company’s founder Charles Lewis on several pieces
